For the purposes of informing all interested parties and the media on the effectiveness of the conducted project activities and achieved objectives, CEED organized Closing Press-Conferences in both target countries - in Kazakhstan (Astana) on 07.08.2015 and Uzbekistan (Tashkent) on 28.08.2015.
The project team members (Project manager and coordinators from the respective country) provided the public with detailed presentations on the achieved results during the project duration (18 months) and the strategic measures taken to ensure the future sustainability of the action. Based on that, the Applicant presented written recommendations and best practices for supporting BIOs and SMEs to the local/national authorities.
A series of methodological publications, planned for release during the project, were based on the project findings. The publications were made in a form of booklets/reminders/leaflets/flyers, etc.; the total number of copies is not less than 4000. The topical focus of methodical materials were determined in the course of the project, the selection of topics depended on the information needs of the target groups (for example, tools for SME support, criteria for readiness to exporting, contact information of support organizations, etc.). The dissemination of the materials was carried out during the project events, as well as during meetings with representatives of the target groups and project beneficiaries, including events in other spheres/projects organized by the project partners.
Regular news columns were opened on the websites of the project partners, government agencies and other organizations involved in the project. Posting in those columns was carried along with the implementation of the project activities and the preparation of information and analytical materials. Besides, press releases about upcoming events were regularly posted.
The strengths and weaknesses of the project implementation process, including achieved main and specific goals, encountered obstacles and discovered new opportunities for the target groups reached out the media and the governmental structures supporting the entrepreneurial society in the participating countries, raised their awareness of the alleged future development stages and measures which still need to be taken in order to make the SME sector more competitive.
The closing press conference gave the unique chance to gather different stakeholders at one event for making conclusions and involving all interested parties in the sustainable continuation of the project’s mission, becoming a platform for thematic discussions, share of valuable contacts, development of promising partnerships, etc.
Key experts and directors of the partnering BIOs assisted in organizing the both events, by inviting representatives of the local authorities, media, entrepreneurs and other interested parties. The partners also shared their considerations regarding the benefits they have made from the participation in the project and present their future intentions.
